Suzukawa is a construction worker and Mikage is a chef. Suzukawa happily eats his bento when Mikage comes up to him and askes whether he's really content. Suzukawa taking insult follows him and finds that his cooking is delicious. They introduce themselves and Mikage offers to teach him how to cook. And so Suzukawa starts taking private lessons from Mikage at night.
In Chapter 2, Takano is introduced as Suzukawa's new coworker and Takano becomes interested in him. Takano askes him out and is rejected. Not giving up he tries to break the two of them apart.
I suspect that Takano followed Suzukawa seeing that Suzukawa bumps into him when he runs out of Mikage's place, after what he said to Suzukawa, expected that they would fight and Suzukawa would become his.
